What accounts for the success of the prohibition movement in the United States during the era of progressive reform, 1900-1919?
In many ways, the prohibition movement came through women's sufferage groups and a strong opposition of immigration--since many believed that it was the immigrants who abused alcohol and were causing so much unrest.
