U-Tube Practice:
The solutions in the arms of a U-tube are
separated at the bottom of the tube by a
selectively permeable membrane. Side A
contains a solution of 8g of glucose and
12g of potassium. Side B contains a
solution of 4g of fructose, 2g of sucrose,
and 2g of glucose. The membrane is
permeable to potassium only. Initially the
volume of liquid is the same in both
arms. Fill in the U-Tube diagram using
the provided information then answer
the questions.
