Sagot :
In order to help my friend check their information and know that it is true, I would recommend a few ways to verify the information and better understand the subject.
There are endless sources of information online and these are not always correct in the information that they provide. Some steps that can be taken to verify that what we read is true are:
- Fact-Checking: We can review the source of the information to help verify if it is true. Websites that end in .gov, .org, or well-known college websites are often reliable sources.
- Ask basic questions: By asking basic questions we can build a stronger foundation to tell if the information we are receiving is true. For example, your friend can ask if plants are able to make more than one product from glucose, which they can.
- Compare with what you know: This goes hand in hand with the previous tip, by comparing what we already know to the information we read, we can make an educated guess as to the accuracy of the information.
So to help my friend check if their information is true, I would offer him some simple ways to check his information. I would tell him to first ask more basic questions so that he better understands the subject. Then I would help him to fact-check the information by analyzing the source, and finally, I would ask him how this new information compares to what he already knew and if it makes sense.
