Odyssey is a hero that relies on clever deceit, or guile, to survive and achieve his goals. He is trying to return home from the Trojan war and on that journey, he must use lies and deceit to survive. But, this is justified as a strategy for survival and by actions of Gods and Goddesses. Because of that behaviour, Odyssey suffers so his acts are justified.
