Looking at both your state and local governments, explain five ways in which they are the same
and five ways they are different in these three categories political structure, electing officials,
and taxation. Be sure to include at least one example from each category for both similarities
and differences.
Whereas the Federal Government and State governments share power in countless ways, a local government must be granted power by the State. In general, mayors, city councils, and other governing bodies are directly elected by the people.
