Scientists can communicate their discoveries to the wider world in a variety of ways. Five of these include publishing their results in a peer-reviewed journal, publishing their work in a more publically accessible form of written media such as the newspaper, writing a letter to a noteable source of influence in the world of science or politics depending on the discovery, speaking about their discovery at an important conference, or speaking to an important educational body such as a university.
